Pinenuts
Pinenuts, known as pignolias in Italian, are the small seeds of the Mediterranean stone pine. Their buttery consistency and mild pine flavor are used to embellish Italian, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisines.
SUGGESTED USE: Pinenuts are essential for making authentic Italian pesto. Simply combine the leaves of fresh basil, olive oil, garlic cloves, parmesan cheese and a handful of pinenuts in a blender until smooth in consistency. Serve with pasta or top pizza or foccacia.
